Psalm 29 is a powerful reminder of the greatness of the God we serve. Throughout the psalm, the phrase "the voice of the Lord" is repeated seven times—a number often associated with completeness and perfection in Scripture. With His voice, He thunders over the waters, breaks the mighty cedars, shakes the wilderness, and causes all creation to declare His glory. This passage reminds us that our God is not weak, distant, or powerless. The same Lord who rules over storms, seas, and nations reigns today with unmatched authority. His voice accomplishes all that He purposes, displaying His majesty, strength, and sovereign power. Yet the psalm ends with a beautiful promise: the God whose voice shakes the earth is also the God who gives strength and peace to His people.
